Hands-off progression
Journal events advance the journey while the next waypoint stays visible and ready to copy.
Set a destination once. EDNeuTron follows the journey through your Elite journal, chooses strategic neutron systems, anticipates fuel stops and recalculates from wherever you actually land.
Mission briefing
EDNeuTron works beside the in-game galaxy map. It supplies the next operational target; Elite Dangerous still plots the ordinary bridge jumps between strategic systems.
Enter and confirm a destination in EDMC Settings, then save the route.
The plugin displays the next strategic system and can keep it clipboard-ready.
Use the galaxy map for bridge jumps. EDNeuTron watches confirmed journal events.
Resume later or go off course and the service replans from your real position and fuel state.
Navigation computer
Journal events advance the journey while the next waypoint stays visible and ready to copy.
Neutron targets can be reached through ordinary bridge jumps rather than pretending every boost star is directly reachable.
Scoopable stars enter the plan before the tank becomes a problem, with an explicit REFUEL instruction.
Destinations and journey state remain separate when you switch between EDMC commander profiles.
Before installation
EDNeuTron is distributed as a plugin for the current PC release of Elite Dangerous Market Connector. A current EDMC installation and an internet connection to CMDRTools are required while routing.
925fd31d8b783f2d992cd5a7f9b262869d3e38afabb216ea55aa96d230efeb95The release manifest is signed with an offline Ed25519 key. The plugin also verifies the archive size and SHA-256 digest before installing an automatic update.
Flight manual
These steps follow EDMarketConnector's documented plugin installation process.
Use the verified CMDRTools package above. Do not extract individual Python files.
In EDMC, open File → Settings → Plugins and press Open. On Windows the folder is normally %LOCALAPPDATA%\EDMarketConnector\plugins.
Open the downloaded ZIP and move its EDNeuTron folder into the EDMC plugins folder. The result should be plugins\EDNeuTron\load.py.
Restart EDMC, then open EDNeuTron settings, enable the main-window display, enter a destination and choose Save & recalculate route.
Cockpit operation
Type and confirm the system you intend to reach. Destinations are stored separately for each local commander profile.
Starts a fresh journey from the latest position, ship and fuel information EDMC has observed.
Keeps the next strategic target ready for the galaxy map. A manual COPY button remains available.
Can send route instructions to compatible EDMCModernOverlay, EDMCOverlay and edmcoverlay2 installations.
Data boundary
EDNeuTron needs enough live navigation state to calculate the next instruction, but it does not require Frontier account authentication.
Current and destination systems, journal-provided coordinates and star class, ship jump capability, fuel state and detected boost state.
Your commander name, Frontier ID and Frontier CAPI token are not sent to the routing service.
The service uses an opaque journey identifier and returns one next instruction rather than exposing its route graph or galactic dataset.
Visibility, automatic copy, overlay and update preferences remain in your EDMC installation.
Release security
The plugin checks for a signed release manifest at most once every 24 hours, with a manual check available in Settings.
Accepted updates are downloaded into a sibling staging directory, checked for path safety, byte size, SHA-256 digest and Ed25519 signature, then swapped into place with rollback if installation fails. EDNeuTron never terminates or restarts EDMC itself.
Troubleshooting
Confirm that load.py is directly inside plugins\EDNeuTron, not inside a second nested folder, then restart EDMC completely.
Open EDNeuTron settings and choose Save & recalculate route. A full EDMC restart is not normally required.
That is expected. EDNeuTron selects strategic systems; use the in-game galaxy map to plot the ordinary bridge jumps to the displayed target.
The new version has been installed into the plugin folder, but the currently loaded Python code remains active. Restart EDMC when convenient to load it.
Bring the installed version, the exact message shown by EDNeuTron and what you were doing when it occurred.
